Takashi Peterson, born in Kyoto, Japan has collected inspiration and influence from all across the globe. After spending his early years in Japan and Australia, he moved to the USA where he began performing professionally at 16 with well-known Blues bands in Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Austin. He has shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang, and the award winning John Paul and the Hellhounds. His Blues days have become the strongest influence on his playing today.
After spending time in Holland collaborating with soul legend Arthur Conley, Takashi enrolled in the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. He studied with masters of guitar such as Francis Coletta, Ira Chris, and Phillipe Catherine, with private instruction from Rory Stuart and Andy Mckey. It was there that he and drummer Andreas Bühler joined forces to create the remarkable mix that is Drop Four.
After completing his Jazz Performance studies in 2005, Takashi relocated to Berlin, Germany where he is currently collaborating with numerous projects ranging in style and audience. Along with composing the majority of the Drop Four tunes, Takashi works with projects such as Canteatro Musiktheater, Roland Zeldenrust, Ben Kaan, Deux en Feu, Bassa and Los Exkisos.
